Legio Vox → PAX West 2026: A New Demo, Developed With Your Help
First off we are headed to PAX West 2026! Please swing by Booth 844 to play our newly enhanced demo, get a chance at winning some swag, and now you can even come visit our mysterious mascot Schrodinger.
We've spent the last year iterating on the feedback and insight from the many players we met at PAX West 2025 and PAX East 2026. More than 300 people played the game and shared excellent notes. Our six machines stayed full almost the entire time at both shows, an enormous motivator for the team. After working on the project in various forms for over five years (first as a hobby, then as a full professional effort), very few people outside the studio had ever touched it. Seeing how warmly it was received was incredibly gratifying.

This does not mean that what we presented was perfect. The demo experience wasn't as finished as we wanted it to be. There were many places that needed an extra pass or tuning. There were also a lot of things that we missed, that were thankfully pointed out by our players. We've radically enhanced almost every single component of the game based on both parts. So I would like to take some time to show off some of our work. We will do many deep dives on particular systems or elements in future blogposts, but here is a high level look at some of what we've been working on. All footage linked below is captured from the demo.
On the combat front, we've overhauled the pace of combat as well as its presentation in order to make the combat feel faster and more engaging. Mechanically it’s still the tactical game it was before, but now with the new camera effects and QTEs it really makes it feel fast paced and more impactful. We've also overhauled our animation system in order to speed up every animation, this makes combat itself literally faster. Finally we worked behind the scenes to rework the balance (Rex was nerfed hard) so that every character in the demo feels valuable and effective. We feel that combined these changes make combat feel incredible.

On the exploration front, we've added new exploration abilities for every character, overhauled the UI and several art assets to make the game feel more cohesive and polished. Enemy pathing and detection got an overhaul too creating a far better navigation and stealth experience.

On the story front, we've now fully voiced all content. Formerly all narration content was unvoiced, but now 100% of narrative scenes are fully voiced by our cast of incredible voice actors. Additionally we created our own custom systems that allow for unique blinking and mouth moving animations for every single pose for our characters, creating another level of immersion in narrative scenes.

Overall we feel the demo now feels like a small piece of a nearly finished product, rather than an in development snapshot. None of this would be possible without our amazing engineers, artists, designers and voice actors. Again I want to thank our players for their incredible feedback that really helped us take the game to the next level.
As I mentioned before, we will be posting many more blogposts in the near future. Look out for more content on the blog and on our X account (@TEOTLNewAge). Also make sure to wishlist our game on steam, the steam page should be live before PAX West (fingers crossed).
We eagerly look forward to all the new players who get to check out the game at PAX West 2026 and hearing their feedback. We can't wait to make the game even better.
PS: Check out this beautiful library art our Art Director Alejandra made for our steampage. Since it only shows up when the game is in your library, which is potentially a while away, it felt like a waste to not show it off.
